A young boy approaches his dad one day with a question that’s been on his mind:
“Dad,” he begins, “how do parents come up with names for their kids?”
His father, looking thoughtful, sits down and decides to share a bit of family tradition.
“Well, son,” the father explains, “it’s an old family custom.”
“The night before a child is born, the dad goes off into the forest and spends the night alone, surrounded by nature. When he wakes up the next morning, he names the newborn after the very first thing he sees.”
The boy listens intently as his dad continues
“For example, when your sister was about to be born, I woke up to see an eagle soaring gracefully in the sky. That’s why we named her Soaring Eagle.”
The boy nods, understanding a bit more about his family’s unique naming tradition. “Thanks, dad!”
And the father responds:
“No problem, Bear Poop.”
