A professor had a classroom policy:
If the phone rings in class, you must answer it on speaker phone.
The professor’s students made the most of this rule on April 1.
In the video (shown below), a student’s phone starts ringing, and all her classmates start heckling her, insisting she answer it on speaker.
The Phone Call on Speaker
The girl answers the phone, only for the voice of a supposed doctor to speak up on the other end.
The doctor announces the results of a pregnancy test:
She’s having a baby!
The student expertly acts forlorn, as if this was an unexpected and unwanted announcement. How can she be having a baby? She’s too young! Her life isn’t put together yet!
The Professor’s Embarrassment
Meanwhile, the professor feels horrible for the fact his policy about answering the phone publicly has meant this girl had to share this very intimate moment with her whole class.
After the girl hangs up, the professor speaks up:
“I want to publicly apologize.”
With the professor in the palm of her hand, the student drops the punchline:
“It’s okay, I’ve been expecting this news. I’ve already got a name picked out. Her first name will be April and her middle name will be Fools.”
