A Californian man went on holiday to Hawaii. When walking along the beach one evening, he found a magic bottle washed up on the seashore.
The man reached down and plucked the bottle up, brushing off the grains of sand that clung to its surface.
As he examined the intricate etchings adorning the glass, a sudden burst of smoke erupted from the bottle’s opening.
From the swirling mist emerged a towering genie figure, clad in elegant robes and adorned with jewels that glittered in the sunlight.
The man’s eyes widened in disbelief as the figure introduced itself in a booming voice:
“Greetings, mortal! I am a genie, bound to this vessel for centuries, and you have summoned me forth.”
The genie then extended an offer that seemed too good to be true:
“For your kindness in releasing me, I shall grant you one wish – a single desire that I shall bring to fruition with my immense powers.”
The man, still reeling from the encounter, pondered the possibilities that lay before him.
After a moment’s thought, he responded:
“Well, I have never been too fond of flying, so could you make a highway from California to Hawaii?”
The genie, taken aback by the audacious request, furrowed his brow and replied:
“Do you know how much of my power that would take? Such a feat would strain even my abilities to their limit.”
Sensing the genie’s hesitation, the man quickly revised his wish:
“Okay, okay. Well, I have never really been good at dating. Could you make women attracted to me?”
Without missing a beat, the genie’s expression shifted:
“You want that highway two lane or four lane?”
