Looking for Trouble

police officer talking to boy

Mr and Mrs Smith had two sons who were quite uniquely named. The first son was called Mind Your Own Business, and his brother was named Trouble.

These two boys were adventurous and loved playing together.

One sunny afternoon, they decided to play their favorite game: hide and seek.

As the game began, Trouble ran off to find a good hiding spot.

Trouble was very good at hiding, so he quickly disappeared while his brother, Mind Your Own Business, closed his eyes and started counting all the way up to one hundred.

After finishing his count, Mind Your Own Business started his quest to find Trouble.

He looked high and low, behind the garbage cans, among the bushes, and then moved on to check around and under the parked cars on their street.

While he was peering under a car, a curious policeman walked up to him.

The officer, seeing the young boy all alone, was concerned and asked, “What are you doing down there?”

Mind Your Own Business looked up and politely answered, “I’m just playing a game, sir.”

The policeman, wanting to know more about the boy, asked, “What’s your name?” The boy responded

“Mind Your Own Business, sir.”

This answer took the policeman by surprise, and he got angry at the boy.

He asked in a more serious tone,

“Are you looking for trouble, son?”

Without missing a beat, Mind Your Own Business replied with a smile

“You bet, sir.”
